TRIP PAYMENTS

The DURANGO/SILLVERTON NARROW GAUGE TRAIN is truly an unforgettable step back in time, enjoy a leisurely trip to yesteryear riding 3 1/2 hours each way on this train while spending a nearly 2 hour layover in the historic mining town of Silverton to enjoy the sights, shopping, food, and libations that Silverton offers. We’ve been in continuous operation running trains on this 45-mile branch of the original Denver & Rio Grande Railway since 1882. Much of the scenery remains unchanged since those historic days. There’s no cell service or Wi-Fi throughout the Animas Canyon so you’ll be unplugged from the modern world. Soak in the views, listen as the steam whistle echoes through the canyon, hear the vintage locomotive work to pull the train up the grades. If you long to unwind and enjoy Colorado nature at its finest, this is the trip for you.

We suggest choosing Friday, August 23rd, 9 AM for your departure.

GET YOUR 25 ANNIVERSARY BREWFEST TICKETS BEFORE THEY ARE SOLD OUT.  The San Juan Brewfest is held at Buckley Park, 1200 Main Avenue in Historic Downtown Durango. The Brewfest is the best beer tasting festival in the Four Corners Area and benefits United Way of Southwest Colorado.


Friday August 23, 5:00 - 8:00 pm:  Only 700 general admission tickets will be sold for the opening day of the San Juan Brewfest. Your ticket includes a souvenir tasting glass, unlimited tastings from up to 35 breweries and cideries, live music, and tons of fun. Food is available for purchase.

Saturday August 24, 1:00 - 5:00 pm:  Just like the day before, general admission ticket holders receive a souvenir tasting glass, unlimited tastings from up to 35 breweries, live music, and tons of fun. Food is available for purchase.   VIP tickets will have access to Brewfest one hour early and have a small meal included with your ticket, plus some Brewfest merchandise, along with the souvenir tasting glass, unlimited tastings from up to 35 breweries and live music.

* Mesa Verde National Park https://www.nps.gov/meve/planyourvisit/hours-of-operation.htm is one hour from Durango!  Free with America the Beautiful Pass or Senior Federal Pass, if you have not been there, plan a day to go. Explore the area where the Ancestral Pueblo people made their home for over 700 years, from A.D. 600 to 1300.  This park has nearly 5,000 known archaeological sites, including 600 cliff dwellings. Some areas closed for construction.

Double occupancy is standard on all trips.
UTC attempts to honor roommate and rooming requests, but they are not guaranteed. Final room assignments are at the trip leader(s) discretion as room assignment changes may be required up to the time of trip departure. In some instances, trip participants may be assigned to room with a person they do not know, or may have to share a bed with a person they do not know of the same sex. If you do not wish to share a room or bed, single rooms may be available at additional cost. There may be instances when a trip participant must pay for single occupancy in order to go on the trip. Please check with the trip leader(s) for more information.

Cancellation Policy:
Up the Creek Ski and Recreation Club (“UTC”) has a No Refund Policy for events/trips/activities.

Exceptions to this policy are granted as follows:

[* Medical, injury or death]: A personal medical condition or injury to you with a doctor’s involvement; death in the immediate family (parents, siblings, children, grandparents, NOTE: pets DO NOT count). The registrant cancelling must be able to provide relevant documentation regarding the injury, medical condition or death to obtain a full cancellation refund;

[* The trip is cancelled]: In some circumstances a trip will be cancelled for all registrants. NOTE: If the venue cancels the trip then UTC must receive its refund from the venue before they can issue refunds.

[* Someone cancels for any other reason]: In this case an exception is granted ONLY if the cancelled spot is filled. In the case where a cancelled spot is filled, a cancellation fee is applied based on the price of the trip and the balance is refunded.
Trips priced at $500 or higher: $100 cancellation fee.
Trips priced from $200 to $499: $50 cancellation fee.
Trips price at $199 or lower: $25 cancellation fee.

If you cancel in the seven days prior to the trip start date, you will only be eligible for a refund if the cancellation is due to injury/illness/death and you have provided the proper documentation to the Trip Leader.

You MUST go through your trip leader/host to cancel and seek reimbursement. If you meet the refund requirements, UTC will refund the credit card used for the trip/event payment for the amount that you paid minus any applicable service fee. Please allow up to thirty (30) days from the event/trip/activity end date for any refund checks, credit card refunds, or comps to be issued. Cancellations are typically processed in the order received.
