Join the Welcome Committee

Being on the Welcome Committee is the easiest way to meet everyone in UTC — because it's your job to meet everyone in UTC.

 

What you'll do

• Be a friendly face for new members and guests at happy hours, trips, and events — introduce yourself, learn a name, ask what brought them here
• Help people find their people — point out a couple of folks who share their interests and make the introduction
• Answer the basic questions: what UTC does, how membership works, what's coming up next
• Share why you joined and what's kept you around — the personal story is what makes people feel at home, not a script

 

What it takes

• No experience required — just enjoy talking to people and remembering a name or two
• Come to one on-boarding meeting to learn the ropes
• After that, volunteer at whichever events you're already going to - no regular meetings required

 

Just one meeting to get started

New Welcome Committee members come to a single on-boarding meeting to meet the team and learn what to do. After that, you're set —no recurring meetings to keep up with. Just keep an eye out for new faces at the events you're already attending.
