WEST COAST SWING @ THE DENVER TURNVEREIN<br />1570 N Clarkson St.<br />Denver, CO 80218<br /><br />DENVER TURNVEREIN is celebrating their 100th ANNIVERSERAY and offering a full week of FREE events...so let&#39;s go dance!!1<br /><br />SHELLEY MADIGAN will host an Up the Creek event for West Coast Swing on Sunday starting at 5:15 pm. Beginner &amp; two additional levels are available.<br /><br />West Coast Swing is NOT a western dance as some may think. It is a beautiful dance once learned with a lot of opportunity for creative expression by both partners. I recommend you stay for the dance after the lesson to practice the steps you learned. Or just watch others to get a better idea of what this dance looks like once you get past the beginner steps. Then from about 7:30 to 8:00 an exhibition of WCS all stars will be presented. You don’t want to miss this. If you are too timid to dance, order a drink and something to eat at the bar window and stick around to watch.<br /><br />PARKING: Parking is free at the Turnverein but if you can&#39;t find a spot, there is additional parking available. Pick up a permit at the front desk. Permit is good only for the day issued and will have parking location and instructions on it. Pull up in front of the Turnverein front steps, park temporarily and get a permit from the front desk.<br />SHOES: The dance floor is wood and nicely polished so NO spiked HIGH HEELS please. Rubber soles are not a good option because your foot will not slide on the dance floor, making dance very difficult. DRESS: casual.<br />BAR &amp; FOOD: Free snacks will be provided but also food can be ordered at the bar window, as well as beer, wine and mixed drinks.
